The Challenge:
Our museum client was concerned that poor light levels and existing exterior fixtures were not providing enough light output to keep their parking lots safe and well illuminated.
Ampica offered the Museum a low-cost solution that allowed them to upgrade their parking lot to LED Lighting, reducing the number of kilowatt-hours used, and drastically increasing nighttime exterior lighting levels.
Ampica also facilitated the BGE utility rebate program the museum qualified for by upgrading 21 fixtures over to LED.
100% of the rebate was sent directly to the museum to help lower their overall investment for the LED update by $2,725.
By upgrading to LED, lighting maintenance costs were reduced, saving the airport $276,202 in regular repairs and fixture upgrades. Ampica was also able to help the client ‘opt out’ of their DSE 1&2 tax riders, saving approximately $6,223.
In evaluating the airport’s natural gas usage, Ampica recommended switching from Large Choice to Small Choice accounts, which saved around $50,000 over seven years.
Using Ampica as a holistic approach to savings kept the airport as cashflow positive around $15,000 per month, all while updating and modernizing their aesthetic look and feel.
