TPI’s Jason Brown to Present at OCMA: Build a Smarter Energy Playbook

Municipal and county facility leaders across Ohio are facing sharp increases in energy costs—driven by rising PJM capacity prices, higher demand, and shifts in the regional generation mix. At the upcoming Ohio County/County Managers Association (OCMA) conference, TPI Efficiency’s Jason Brown, PE, CEM, LC, will lead a breakout session titled “The Ohio Facilities Energy Playbook — Contracting Right, Reducing Load, Building Resilience.”

This educational session will help public sector managers understand the forces driving today’s energy price volatility and provide a practical roadmap for controlling their budgets. Attendees will learn:

  • How to secure more competitive energy contracts through effective procurement strategies that balance price stability and market opportunity.
  • Which facility efficiency measures can meaningfully reduce load and mitigate exposure to future capacity costs?
  • When and how to consider onsite generation—such as solar or battery storage—to enhance resilience and reduce grid dependency.

With real-world examples and clear frameworks, Jason will show how Ohio communities can stabilize energy costs, reduce operational risk, and strengthen long-term resilience.

Brown brings more than 25 years of diverse experience in engineering, commercial operations, and energy strategy, including leadership roles at General Electric and Encentiv Energy. A Professional Engineer and Certified Energy Manager, he currently serves as Vice President at TPI Efficiency, helping organizations across industries optimize energy performance and cost structure.
