As an Energy Solutions Engineer, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers identify, evaluate, and implement energy efficiency and onsite generation projects. You will conduct facility assessments, develop technical and financial solutions, support the sales process, and help ensure successful project implementation. This role is ideal for an engineering professional who combines technical expertise with strong customer-facing skills and a passion for driving measurable energy savings.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Coordinate with sales teams and clients to determine project requirements, objectives, and constraints
- Audit facilities to develop energy strategies, coordinate initial estimates to align our value prop with client needs
- Design, develop, proposals to support selling energy projects, leveraging all ECM’s and Incentives, and support implementation of Design and develop technical solutions with project management clients’ business objectives
- Present and demonstrate the value of products and services to prospective clients, alongside sales
- Support implementation in troubleshooting and resolve any technical issues that arise
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to team members and clients
- Drive new efficiency product development and align with project management on new ECM providers
- Work closely with product management and engineering teams to stay updated on product development
- Develop technical plans and strategies for products and services
- Document all technical inquiries and customer interactions to track project progress and update customer files
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives; open to innovative solutions, pivots when necessary, and stay ahead of energy industry trends
- Consistently integrate TPI’s core values into everyday habits by promoting a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging diverse perspectives, supporting colleagues, and contributing to a positive team culture
- Approach challenges with confidence while remaining receptive to feedback. Strives for continuous improvement, acknowledging achievements, yet maintains humility
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience managing energy and efficiency projects and knowledge of standard project management processes and practices
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards, including NEC and ASHRAE standards LEED and energy conservation requirements
- Must be able and remain flexible to travel up to 25% to various current and prospective customers and project locations.
- Must possess a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Energy Manager/Auditor with the Association of Energy Engineers
- Proficiency in LEED or other Sustainability training
- Experience using CRM such as HubSpot experience to manage the sales process and forecast sales.
